Overview

77 essential icons is a self-initiated project. Initially created to speed up my own workflow after consistently needing the same set of interface icons. Rather than an exhaustive list — this set of icons cover popular metaphors used through design. The essentials.

I made the icons open source — so other people could make use of them too.

Outcome

It was important to me that the icons were freely available and accessible. No matter what software you might own. I  included many different file types inside the download: AI, EPS, PNG, PSD, PDF, SVG and an icon font.

77 essential icons have now racked up over 25,000 downloads across various channels. They have been published across many design blogs like Creative Bloq, Netmag, Smashing Magazine and Web Designer Depot. The icons are free to download and use for personal and commercial use. No attribution required.
